Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer

I would like to adjourn tonight’s meeting in honor of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer.

I want to thank the hundreds of residents who joined us Sunday evening for the vigil celebrating his life and offering comfort and solace to those who are grieving his loss.

Tonight, Santa Clarita City Hall is lit up blue in honor of Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer.

He was a Santa Clarita native, and a 2010 graduate of West Ranch High School.

One of his high school teachers remembered him fondly saying, “Ryan was the type of kid that every parent wished was theirs. He was selfless in his help and support of others and always wore an infectious smile on campus.”

He is listed on the school’s wall of honor, along with other West Ranch graduates who have gone into the military or become first responders.

Deputy Clinkunbroomer had served at the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station as a field training officer since 2018.

Law enforcement is a tradition in his family, with both his father and grandfather also serving as deputies.

LA Country Sheriff Robert Luna said of him, “Service was running through his veins. He embodied the values of bravery, selflessness and was committed to justice. Our deputy was a devoted family member and a cherished community member.”

Deputy Clinkunbroomer had gotten engaged to the love of his life, just four days before his death.

The City of Santa Clarita grieves with his family, his law enforcement family, his fiancé and everyone who was lucky enough to get to know Ryan Clinkunbroomer.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

The Association for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriff’s is taking donations for Deputy Clinkunbroomer’s family through their C.A.R.E.S. Foundation.
