Tonight, we adjourn with a heavy heart in memory of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Commander Darren Harris.
Commander Harris worked for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for over 30 years and was the former spokesman for our very own Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Department.
You no doubt remember his name and face from his many TV news appearances, keeping our community informed in emergency situations.
Harris had an impressive career with LASD – being promoted to Lieutenant in the Sheriff’s Information Bureau, then Captain of the Department’s Transportation Services and eventually served as Commander at the time of his death.
Harris worked to inform, educate and protect residents daily.
He was known for his infectious smile as well as his kind personality.
He is remembered fondly by residents and his coworkers alike.
Tonight, we adjourn in memory of Commander Darren Harris.
Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and colleagues during this difficult time.
