Robert Crockett

I would like to take time to adjourn tonight’s meeting in memory of Robert Dale Crockett, a community leader in Santa Clarita and a longtime Santa Clarita Valley resident who passed away in March after a battle with cancer.

Bob was born on November 29, 1954, in Boulder, Colorado, and had seven siblings.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed skiing, backpacking, running and biking.

In 1973, Bob enrolled at Brigham Young University, where he earned a degree in economics with a minor in computer science.

While taking a short break in El Paso, Texas, Bob met Debbie, the love of his life.

The two were married in 1977 in the Salt Lake Temple.

After working briefly for Boeing in Seattle, Bob and Debbie returned to Utah where Bob finished near the top of his law school class at BYU.

In 1980, Bob was hired as a summer law clerk in Los Angeles at Latham & Watkins – a firm where he would be elected as a partner and work for more than 32 years.

After retiring from Latham in 2014, he opened his own firm – Crockett & Associates, right here in Santa Clarita.

Bob and Debbie had 11 children, all raised in the Santa Clarita Valley.

When not working or taking the family on ski and backpacking trips, Bob was devoted to serving the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Our thoughts are with Bob’s family, including his siblings, 11 children, 24 grandchildren and countless friends, during this difficult time.
