We adjourn tonight’s meeting in memory of Viki Rudolph Black, a longtime Santa Clarita resident and visionary leader.
Viki served as the Executive Director of the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce for 13 years before retiring in 1994. Before that she worked for California State Assemblyman Jim Keysor and the San Fernando Chamber of Commerce before coming to Santa Clarita.
She was a hard worker with an amazing work ethic. One of her former coworkers said that she raised the level of the Chamber – taking it to a new level.
I met Viki in the 80s when I was working with the Canyon Country Chamber of Commerce and I can tell you there is a long list of phenomenal men and women who we can thank for the success of our community and Viki is at the front of that list.
She was one of Santa Clarita’s leaders and helped shape the City we are today.
A fellow Chamber board member described Viki as a person who provided great leadership to this community before the formation of the City.
Our heartfelt prayers and deepest sympathies are with Viki’s family during this difficult time.
