We honor the life of Sergeant Steven Owen by adjourning tonight’s meeting in his memory. Sgt. Owen, of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, was killed in the line of duty on October 5.
A member of the Sheriff’s Department for 29 years, he was described by colleagues as the guy they all wanted to be. He was a medal of valor recipient and was a familiar face in the Lancaster community. He protected the people and he protected the community.
Sgt. Owen was a husband, father, brother, uncle, son and hero. Our heartfelt prayers and deepest sympathies are with the Owen family during this difficult time.
