We adjourn tonight’s City Council Meeting in honor of a dear friend and a colleague.
Tom LeBrun was a department head at the Santa Clarita Valley Sanitation District. He worked closely with the City to address the recent chloride issue.
Tom was born on July 23, 1950 as the second of 7 children. He grew up in San Gabriel before attending college at Loyola University and U.C. Berkeley.
Tom enjoyed a rich and varied career as a Civil Engineer. He worked in many departments and positions with the Los Angeles County Sanitation District.
After an impressive 42-year career, he retired in December 2013.
Tom loved nature, music, skiing, golf and travel with friends and family. Some of his most cherished times were spent with his three children in the YMCA Guide programs.
Tom passed away unexpectedly on September 4.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jennifer; his three children, Ariana, Matthew and Veronica; his father and stepmother, and a large, loving extended family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom’s memory to the Seaver College Scholarship at Loyola Marymount University.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and loved ones during this difficult time.
