I would like to adjourn tonight’s meeting in memory of Keith Mowry, a longtime businessman and owner of Bob’s Country Meats in Canyon Country who recently passed away unexpectedly at the age of 62.
Keith was a beloved member of our community and was known by his customers for creating a welcome family environment for everyone who stopped into his shop.
To quote the store website, he had been a “meat connoisseur” since the age of 15, when he began working in a butcher shop in the Encino area.
Keith worked hard and saved up to eventually purchase Bob’s Country Meats in 1989.
Keith made sure that the store had a family atmosphere – and it has grown into a Santa Clarita landmark because of this.
Generations of Santa Clarita residents have shopped at Bob’s Country Meats and had the opportunity to interact with Keith and his family.
A testament to any business is what its customers say about it to other people.
Too many times to count, Santa Clarita residents have turned to the community at large online, for recommendations when holding barbecues or parties, or if they are new to the City and are looking for places to go for what they need.
Time and time again, the answer has been simple – you must go to Bob’s Country Meats.
And not just for the high quality and selection, but because of the people who work there and the owner – Keith – who made sure you were always taken care of.
No matter what anyone needed, Keith was there, and that is shown by the outpouring of love and support for his family following his passing.
We will all miss Keith and our thoughts are with his wife, BJ, as well as their family and friends at this difficult time.
