It is with profound sadness that we adjourn tonight’s meeting in memory of John Hartigan, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who lived every moment with love and passion.
John’s life was a journey of creativity and adventure.
As a visionary in practical special effects for film and TV, he traveled the world, facing every challenge with courage and curiosity.
He lived in Canyon Country and was a key part of the long-running Hawaii Five-0 television series, a remake of the original ‘60s show, where he worked on 134 episodes.
He was responsible for the on-set practical effects for Hawaii Five-0, including the many explosions.
John was also a dedicated supporter of the City’s open space and conservation efforts.
His family says that John left a legacy of love, inspiration and joy in every life he touched.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Beverly and all of his children, grandchildren and loved ones.
