It is with great sadness that I adjourn tonight’s meeting in memory of Dora Zavala, a beloved member of our community who recently passed away unexpectedly at the age of 59.
Dora was a devoted mother and grandmother and an active and beloved member of many organizations throughout Santa Clarita.
In addition to being a member of Soroptimist of Greater Santa Clarita and serving as a district director in Soroptimist International, Dora was involved with Single Mothers Outreach and served on the board of Samuel Dixon Family Health Center.
Additionally, Dora was known as a dedicated member of Real Life Church over the past 20 years.
She was born in Barstow and moved to Stevenson Ranch in 1998.
It was here that she raised her two daughters, Nicole and Noelle.
Dora spent 35 years in the grocery industry and was active in the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Latino Business Alliance.
Dora is greatly missed by so many in our community and our thoughts are with her family and friends during this difficult time.
