I would like to take a moment to adjourn tonight’s meeting in memory of Reba Anne Hallerberg, a longtime Santa Clarita resident, successful businesswoman and community advocate who recently passed away at the age of 80.
Reba was born in 1940 in Oklahoma and moved with her parents – Audrey and Earl – and her sister, June, to California at the age of 8.
She went to elementary school in Newhall, where she was a bright student, and graduated from Hart High School in 1956 at the age of 16.
Not long after graduation she married her husband, Frank.
The couple had one daughter together – Julia.
Over the years, Reba became a trailblazer for working women in Southern California.
After some time as a flight attendant, she purchased a commercial cleaning company called Valley Maintenance. From there, she began a 20-year career working at the Newhall County Water District until her retirement in 1995.
Reba later decided she wanted to get back into the business world, so she took the Real Estate License exam in 2003 and became an agent with Keller Williams.
In addition to her successful career, Reba was also very active in the community.
She was a devoted member of the Zonta Club of Santa Clarita – a role that she used to advocate for and support women and empower them to accomplish their dreams.
Personally, Reba loved spending time in the kitchen with her daughter Julia and hosting family and friends for holiday celebrations.
She also adored her grandchildren, nephews and great grandchildren.
We are saddened by Reba’s passing and our thoughts are with her entire family during this difficult time.
