I would like to adjourn tonight’s meeting in memory of Anthony Princiotta, a young leader in our community who passed away tragically last week at the age of 33.
Anthony was known throughout Santa Clarita for his charity work, and was a member of the Santa Clarita Elks Lodge.
His family and friends describe him as someone who would do anything to help someone in need.
Anthony was a United States Marine Corps veteran who earned several Purple Heart medals, and who was a passionate advocate for Santa Clarita veterans and their families.
An avid motorcycle rider, he helped form a riders group – The Elks Riders – that raised funds for veterans and families in need.
Earlier this year, the group raised more than $10,000 to pay for medical expenses for a child suffering from a brain injury.
This is just one example of how Anthony was able to mobilize people to help those in our community.
Although he was one of the younger members of the Elks Lodge, he is remembered as a leader in the group who was dedicated to the helping others.
All of us throughout Santa Clarita are saddened by Anthony’s passing, and our thoughts are with his wife Deanna, as well as his family, friends and loved ones during this difficult time.
