I would like to adjourn tonight’s meeting in memory of Victor Mozqueda, a young man from our City who tragically passed away last month.
Victor and loved ones were on a trip to Sequoia National Park when a 5-year-old family member slipped and fell into a fast moving river.
Without hesitation, Victor jumped into the rapids to save the little boy’s life. After securing the boy and tossing him toward land, Victor was dragged away by the strong currents.
Fortunately, Victor was able to get the boy to safety where a good Samaritan performed CPR and was able to revive him. We are all thankful that the boy was able to get to a hospital and is recovering.
Victor had a deep love for soccer and music and had dreams of being a musician. He will be remembered in our community as a hero who was taken from his family far too soon.
Our thoughts are with Victor’s parents, siblings, family members and friends, and we offer them our love and support during this most difficult time.
