We adjourn tonight’s meeting in memory of Steven Gail, or more affectionately known as “Mr. G” by his students in the Hart District.
He taught as a substitute teacher in Hart District for 16 years and was known for engaging students with entertaining musical numbers like “The Periodic Chart Chemistry Doo-Wop,” and often ended a class with his version of Sammy Davis Junior’s “The Candy Man.”
At the end of last year, Steven lost his battle with a rare form of leukemia after a strong six year fight.
A former student of Mr. G’s said, “He cared greatly about every one of us, and by being in his presence you knew that. He radiated encouragement and was always proud of our achievements.”
Our heartfelt prayers and deepest sympathies are with the Gail family, as well as the students, staff and faculty of the Hart District, during this difficult time.
