Tonight we adjourn our City Council meeting in honor of a dear lady in our community, Joan Cecilia Comer.
Joan was a cherished Santa Clarita resident who loved to give back to her community.
She was born in Brooklyn, New York and attended Medical Laboratory Assistant School after graduating from Midwood High School with honors.
She was a medical laboratory assistant for 20 years and worked side-by-side with some of the finest doctors.
In fact – Joan was asked twice by two doctors for her opinion on possible diagnosis of a rare disease and both times she was correct.
Just as she was a dedicated and hard worker, Joan was also a loving wife to her husband of 58 years, Robert, and a wonderful mother to her three children Kevin, Kate and Seth.
Joan also served the church faithfully and had a great love of her faith.
Joan passed away on March 27. We will forever cherish her lasting memory.
