We adjourn tonight’s meeting in memory of Ruth Levine, who worked for our City for more than 10 years.
Ruth grew up in Anaheim, and made her home here in Santa Clarita with her husband Mark.
Ruth started out as a receptionist at the City, and was promoted to Supervisor of the City’s contract recreation classes.
Through her incredible work ethic, Ruth expanded the City’s contractual recreation classes by more than 300 percent.
Ruth was a model City employee. She was admired by all who had the good fortune to know and work with her.
When Ruth was diagnosed with cancer, she was given one year to live.
However, through prayer and a positive attitude, Ruth defied the diagnosis and lived another eight exceptional years.
Ruth passed away on January 18 after a long battle with cancer.
We will forever remember her warm spirit, her great laugh and her unstoppable positive attitude. She was a bright spot here at the City, and we know she is shining down on us.
As we grieve this loss, our prayers and support remain with Ruth’s husband and family.
