It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of Robert Newhall Chesebrough III.
Robert was a descendant of three prominent Santa Clarita families.
He was the great-great-great grandson of Henry Mayo Newhall, and the great-grandson of Arthur S. Chesebrough, former manager of the Newhall Ranch.
Robert was also the grandson of Robert Newhall Chesebrough Sr. and the late Lawrence Cordova of Castaic.
Robert was born and raised in the Santa Clarita Valley. As a teenager, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout with Castaic’s Troop 583.
As an adult, he was a director of the Henry Mayo Newhall Foundation, which donates hundreds of thousands of dollars to charitable organizations in the Santa Clarita Valley every year.
This past July, Robert and his wife Crystal were married on the Chesebrough Farm in Templeton.
Robert lost his battle with melanoma cancer on November 16. He was 37.
Our thoughts, prayers and most heartfelt sympathies are with Robert’s family and loved ones during this very difficult time.
