Tonight we remember a veteran and longtime Santa Clarita resident, Marty Forinash.
Marty moved to Santa Clarita in the 1930’s and joined the Newhall Station of the California Highway Patrol.
After serving in the US Navy during World War II, Marty returned to Santa Clarita.
He retired from the CHP in 1971, after serving nearly 30 years on the force. Marty served nearly his entire career here in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Marty was a longtime member of the San Fernando Masonic Lodge 343, and several other masonic organizations.
In his spare time, he enjoyed reading, traveling, and telling stories to family and friends.
Marty passed on October 31. He is survived by his beloved wife Ethel of 67 years, his daughter Debra, his grandsons, and a large, loving extended family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marty’s memory to Shriners Hospital for Children in Los Angeles.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Marty’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
