We adjourn our meeting tonight in honor of a longtime Santa Clarita resident, Henry Schultz.
Henry moved to Santa Clarita in the early 1980’s, with his wife Louise and their two sons, Alex and Aaron.
Right away, Henry got involved in the community.
He coached AYSO soccer and served as a Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 57.
However, Henry’s greatest passion was the Sierra Club. He served in leadership roles, hosted fundraisers, and guided hikes.
Henry’s love for nature and open spaces was undeniable.
He served on the Santa Clarita Parks Commission and the Santa Clarita Open Space Committee, where he helped us pass local legislation to create the Open Space Preservation District.
Henry passed away peacefully on October 29, surrounded by his family.
A celebration will be held next month to commemorate his life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Henry’s name to the Sierra Club.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
