I would like to adjourn tonight’s meeting in memory of Kevin G. Lynch, a longtime Canyon Country resident who passed away on October 9th at the age of 85.
Kevin was a pillar of our community and worked as an attorney with a career that spanned an impressive 57 years.
He attended Loyola University as an undergraduate before earning his Law Degree from Southwestern University.
Kevin began his career as a prosecutor in the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office, before joining the law firm of Lewis, Varni and Ghirardelli – where he was made partner.
He later joined with Marilynn Freytag to form Lynch & Freytag. When his son Craig followed in his footsteps, they together established the firm, Lynch & Lynch.
In addition to his distinguished career in the legal profession, Kevin also served as the President of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association and was a California State Bar Executive Committee Member.
In Santa Clarita, Kevin served as a member of the College of the Canyons Board of Trustees and on the board of the Castaic Lake Water Agency.
He will be best remembered as a loving husband and father, one who was active in supporting his children and their passions.
He gave back to the Boy Scouts of America and 4-H, and was also a booster for his children’s and grandchildren’s sports teams.
We are all saddened by Kevin’s passing, and our thoughts are with his family, friends and loved ones during this difficult time.
