I would like to adjourn tonight in memory of Wayne Habell, whose untimely passing at the age of 43 is felt by all in our community.
Wayne was a husband and father of three, who lived in Newhall and served as the Captain at LA County Fire Station 73.
Captain Habell was a 13-year veteran of the LA County Fire Department, leading the response for a number of fires and other disasters in Santa Clarita, helping save countless lives in the process.
He will be greatly missed, not only in Santa Clarita and Station 73, but throughout the fire department. The Los Angeles County Fire Department is asking the public for renewed focus and support of mental health services. They also encourage those who need help to seek support and resources.
Our thoughts are with Captain Habell’s wife Jennifer, their three children, extended family and friends during this difficult time.
