I would like to adjourn tonight’s meeting in memory of Gerald Sokolowicz, a longtime Santa Clarita resident who recently passed away at the age of 72.
Gerry was born on April 28, 1946 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin but had been a resident of Saugus since 1982. He and his late wife DeAnn, were the proud parents of son David, who still resides in the Saugus area.
Gerry was a life member of the Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society, volunteering at all of the organization’s major events and playing a key role in the preservation of our area’s rich history.
In addition to giving back to the community through his work with the SCV Historical Society, Gerry was also a bus driver with Santa Clarita Transit.
Our thoughts are with Gerry’s son David, as well as his brother Robert, extended family members and friends during this difficult time.
