I want to adjourn tonight in memory of Katie Evans, a local mother of six, who passed away following a car accident on the night of October 6th.
Katie was a devoted and loving mother, sister and wife. She was on the way home from visiting her premature twin daughters in the hospital when her car was hit by a suspected drunk driver.
Not a day went by without Katie visiting her newborns, Hannah and Sarah, who were not even eight weeks old yet.
There has been an outpouring of support for the Evans family from friends, neighbors and strangers from around the country.
We are all deeply saddened by the loss of Katie and our thoughts are with her husband Jacob, their children, and their entire family during this difficult time.
